The NATAS Northwest Foundation
Scholarship Program

Since 1985, NATAS Northwest has awarded more than 100 scholarships totaling over $200,000 to aspiring television professionals studying at universities in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, and Alaska.

In 2022, NATAS awarded $15,000 to three deserving college students within our five-state region. Each recipient also is granted a year-long mentorship with a broadcast professional in their field of choice. NATAS Northwest is proud to have awarded 96 scholarships worth $159,600 since our scholarship program was established in 1985.

Congratulations to our 2024 Scholarship Recipients!

NATAS GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS 2024

Natalie Keller
GONZAGA UNIVERSITY

Natalie Keller is a freshman at Gonzaga University majoring in journalism and minoring in broadcast and electronic media studies with a goal of becoming a TV news reporter. While Natalie has always had a strong interest in both writing and public speaking, she didn’t realize how much she loved journalism and telling others’ stories until she wrote for the Yakima Herald-Republic through a teen journalism program in high school. Since then, Natalie has continued to hone her storytelling skills by working as an arts and entertainment editor for The Gonzaga Bulletin, her school newspaper. Outside of journalism, Natalie also enjoys dance and being involved in campus activities.

RACHEL MUSSELWHITE
UNIVERSITY OF ANCHORAGE ALASKA

Rachel Musselwhite is majoring in Journalism & Public Communications at the University of Alaska Anchorage. They previously were a columnist at the Daily Californian, and currently write for UAA's True North magazine. They are especially passionate about topics such as immigration, homelessness, and sex work. When not telling stories, Rachel can often be found figure skating, running, or exploring the Alaskan wilderness.
