Randy Eng
Videographer, producer, editor, and writer
Randy Eng is a 12-time Northwest Regional Emmy winner. Born and raised in Seattle, he graduated from the University of Washington in 1990 with a BA in Communications. Later that year, he started his television career as a photojournalist with KVAL-TV in Eugene, OR. In 1992, he took a photojournalist job with KING-TV in Seattle. Over his 22-year tenure, he worked in the news, investigative, special projects, documentary, and consumer units. He is an NPPA Video Workshop participant/graduate (Norman, OK) and was on staff when KING won NPPA Station of the Year (2013, 2011). Randy left KING in 2015 to work for the Seattle Channel, the City of Seattle's municipal television station. As a VSII, Randy's job is to produce content that highlights underserved and underrepresented populations within Seattle. Randy has produced 11 individual First Place National NATOA Awards, as well as countless Second and HM NATOA awards during his time with the Seattle Channel. On the corporate side, Randy has extensive experience producing content for companies such as Boeing, Starbucks, Swedish Hospital, Concur, Pemco Insurance Centurylink and Alaska Airlines.
Outside of work, Randy volunteers his time with numerous non-profit organizations, including: CISC (Chinese Information and Service Center), ACRS (Asian Counseling and Referral Services), Treehouse (Youth Foster Care), Peer Washington (LGBTQ+ Advocacy), and Open Arms (Birth coach/Doula agency), to name a few.
Randy is of Chinese, Japanese, Hawaiian and German heritage. He has 2 kids: a son who recently graduated with a BA of Arts in Film and a daughter still in high school. He also has a 10-year-old rescue dog (Shepherd/Mystery mix), named Abbey. To quiet the noise, you can find Randy out on his kayak, completely unplugged.
