Robin Wojtanik

Robin Wojtanik got a unique start in TV news by showing up to a small market station in Palm Springs in 1999 asking for a job. She had recently graduated from WSU but no degree or experience in broadcasting. She started an "internship" at KESQ and was then hired to work the nightside assignment desk. That eventually became a role as a morning producer. From there, she headed to WKYC in Cleveland and was promoted to an Executive Producer and oversaw the Emmy-winning morning newscast. She landed back on the west coast at KING for a short while before a decade as News Director of two newsrooms, 80 miles apart, in the Yakima-Tri-Cities DMA. Robin spent 10 years in the role, training hundreds of new reporters, many whom have gone on to large market and network television. Her stations received multiple Emmy nominations during that time. She now freelances for a print publication as a business reporter.
